They Can BBQ My Brisket Any Day of the Week.
By Gabriella Allen
I don’t think I knew barbeque or even liked barbeque all that much before I tried Four Rivers Smokehouse, located on Fairbanks Avenue right off of I-4. My husband was born in Texas; therefore I think it’s a sin for him to not be obsessed with barbeque. We saw their “coming soon” sign months before they opened and decided to try it out when they finally did. Little did we know, we were about to taste brisket from heaven.
If it were just the tender brisket to rave about, we’d all be okay. But, it’s not. All the sides are to die for and made fresh in-house. The corn is cut off the cob and seasoned with spices and what seems to be diced tomato? What ever it is, it’s great. The baked beans are the perfect amount of spice to sweet. Their signature sauce is like non other. Other interesting sides are their sweet potato casserole, Texas cornbread, Krispy Kream® bread pudding, bacon wrapped jalapenos, baked cheese grits, and mac & cheese, to mention a few.
If you drive by when they’re open, I would almost guarantee that there’s a line. Not to worry, they are fast. You pick your items cafeteria style, check out at the counter, and immediately get your food to take to the outside seating area. Get ready for picnic benches! I’m not looking forward to eating out there in the summer, but I’m sure they will figure something out. Either way, the food quality and taste is well worth the Florida heat.
