Fresh, fast, and healthy. By: Gabriella Allen
The first time I saw the Greens n’ Grill restaurant sign, the first thing I though of was grilled vegetables. I was picturing a restaurant that solely sold bowls of green beans with sautéed onions and peppers. I knew this wasn’t the case, but it still sounded way to healthy and not so adventurous. I never really had an urge to try it until I started hearing the good reviews. I was being told of their “huge salads” and “awesome sandwiches.” The tagline is “Simply Fresh.” Other than salads and sandwich items they also have entrée items, homemade hummus with pita, baked mac n’cheese, and homemade soups. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the homemade dressing. They are obviously fresh, but they also have a great variety of custom salad dressings only found at Greens n’ Grill; for example, Creamy Avocado, Sherry Thyme, White Balsamic Citrus, Chipotle Lime, Kalamata Olive, to mention a few.
This is how Greens n’ Grill works. You order at the counter. You pick from gourmet sandwich or salad combinations on the menu, or you choose to create your own. The first decision is the meat (all organic) and they grille it fresh for you. When you choose a salad you go through the galore of toppings and they toss it up for you. The toppings are premium quality. They have specialty cheeses like Gorgonzola, goat, feta, and white cheddar. Different types of nuts, fruits, and seeds are also options that are usually limited at other salad joints. You can’t go wrong with the “Steakhouse salad;” flank steak, field greens, cranberries, Gorgonzola, candied almonds, and boiled egg. It’s truly delicious. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a wide variety of healthy options and salad choices. Vegetarians will appreciate items like grilled Portobello for a meat substitute as well.
The price range is $7-10 for all entrées. The two locations are Millenia and UCF.
