There’s a new ice cream parlor in town and I honesty think it’s the most amazing place. Located in downtown Kissimmee on Main Street, Pure Magic’s ice cream is turned from liquid to solid in a matter of seconds. I thought it was cool when Coldstone and Marble Slab customized my flavor and toppings, then mixed them for me; then along came the most fantastic and revolutionary idea to date: actually getting to see your ice cream freeze right before your eyes!
A cool thing about Pure Magic is that it’s a mom and pop joint. There isn’t some crazy contraption that freezes your ice cream; it’s just a man, a bowl of cream, a nitrogen tank, and a mixer. They first pump liquid cream into a metal bowl, and then you choose your mixings. Then they release nitrogen into the bowl a few times while the churning process occurs. About 60 seconds later, you have a cup of delicious frozen perfection. There are literally hundreds of combinations. My favorite is bananas, marshmallow cream, graham cracker, and Nutella. I call it the “Nana S’mores.” They also have cheesecake pieces, brownies, cookie dough, chocolate chips, honey, cinnamon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, peaches, mango, macadamia nuts, almonds, caramel, butterscotch, peanut butter, sprinkles, Oreos, Butterfinger. Okay, so I realize I just went a little topping crazy, but this place rocks my world. I forgot to mention the amazing taste, it’s like a giant creamy Dip n’ Dot. Only the best ingredients are used.
This place only gets better. Any combination is just $5. That means as many toppings as you want for $5. There is a suggested limit, in which my younger sister has a reputation of pushing, but who can really blame her? Truth be told, they’ve never denied her requests. The cups are giant too, and they split them for free.
Although Kissimmee may be a small drive for most of us Orlandonians, I promise you that your life will be enriched, and it is MORE than worth the drive
