It’s no secret to the residents of Orlando that, if you live here, you’re living in a bit of a sprawl. Today’s choice, Davis Bakery & Company, is located in Avalon Park of East Orlando.

Davis Bakery & Company is located in what could be considered the “downtown” area of Avalon Park. The shop has an outside dining area (which is pet friendly and perfect for breakfast and brunch). Davis is only open for breakfast and lunch, and has a menu that mostly consists of baked goods and sandwiches, but is a perfect choice for a light meal. Davis’ signature “Baglewich” includes your choice turkey, ham, or smoked salmon along with your choice of cheese, veggies, and spread. All veggies are cut fresh and the bagels are delivered daily and delicious. All the spreads offered at Davis Bakery are hand-mixed and guaranteed to be better than any store-bought concoction you’ve had in the past. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, a simple bagel with fresh hummus might interest you, or any of the many baked goods they make from scratch in store (if you’re lucky enough to visit on a day serving cupcakes, definitely indulge).

The atmosphere is welcoming and light; the workers behind the counter are cordial and friendly (after only a few trips they were recommending things I may like based on what was ordered in the past) and it’s simply just a nice place to relax before you start your day. Davis Bakery & Company is a great, easy-to-overlook gem tucked unfortunately away from the heart of Orlando in Avalon Park. If you’re a resident of East Orlando, or simply don’t mind taking a trip for what is honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches in town, Davis Bakery & Company is for you.
