Even though Burger King coined the phrase “Have it your way” Pine Twenty2 does it better with your burger. Pine Twenty2, an affiliate of Urban Flats (as discovered after talking to one of the cashiers), is a restaurant that opened about 4 months ago on East Pine Street in Downtown Orlando. The restaurant is mainly focused on the burger. There are ten different combo meals ranging from the simple “The Pine”, 1/3 lb 100% Angus grass fed beef with ketchup, mustard and mayo, to the “Burginator”, ½ lb Deepcreek ranch grass fed beef, a Fried Lake Meadow Egg, smoked bacon, charred onions, herb aioli and Fontina cheese.
If you are not sure that you like what is on the burger on the combo list you have the choice to make your own burger. Customers have the choice of a 100% Angus beef, turkey burger, a black bean burger, pulled pork and chicken breast. From the burger portion there are six different types of buns, twelve types of cheese, twenty-four sauces, twenty toppings and nine premium toppings to choose from. There are endless possibilities for a burger to be prepped to one’s liking.
Besides the ability to create a really delicious burgers, the restaurant seeks to spread the idea of being conscious of where your food comes from. At the top of the menu the company advertises that it is 100% natural with no hormones or antibiotics. At the bottom of the menu the restaurant seems convey this idea by saying “Conscious eating takes conscience choices”. Some of the items are locally grown, raised or produced in Florida and they are identified by a little tree icon placed next to the items. Also the farms from which the beef is bought are listed on the menu so if some one was interested they could research where their beef came from.
The restaurant also serves beer and wine for those of drinking age. Not to mention there is a large flat screen projector and a glass room set apart for groups. It is the ideal place to catch lunch or dinner downtown for a nice price when working, before heading into a movie at the Plaza Cinema or organizing a get together. So next time you visit downtown Orlando give the restaurant a try.
