With the changing times and in Central Florida area and across the nation people with a flair in the culinary arts have thought outside the restaurant to bring a new food experience to the masses. Lately the new hip eatery can be seen on four wheels. The food truck movement has progressed past the idea of sandwiches for workers or a hotdog stand and become mini gourmet vehicles with followings.

In the last few months Central Florida has become a hub of new food trucks appearing on the street. To bring this craze closer to the people The Daily City sponsored their first Food Truck Bazaar March 29 from 7pm-10pm where about ten trucks showed up. The proprietors of these trucks didn’t have any expectations but were surprised at the throngs of people that showed up to try items from their trucks, a few ran out of food well before the event ended. Due to the success of the first event there was a repeat in May and the popularity must have proved great because The Daily City decided to create a whole summer series. For June, July and August The Daily City will have a bazaar in three different locations a month.   June began with the first time the Bazaar was held in Oviedo on June 12 at the Oviedo Mall and June 19 there was a showing at the Fashion Square Mall. The third and final bazaar for the month of June will be June 26 from 6-pm-10pm at Parliament Hour Bar & Resort.  If you miss(ed) any of these events don’t despair because the rotation begins again in July.

If you do find yourself heading to one of the Food Truck Bazaar locations there are a few tips to know:

-cash is always good -some may take credit but why chance it

-wear comfortable shoes-lines can get long and so of course and the waits

-bring friends-if you want food from more than one vendor you can spit up and send orders between the group

-Bring your own chair-if you don’t mind sitting on road or in your car this may not matter then

-With all of this in Mind I hope that you make it out to one of the Bazaars closest to you and enjoy some good eats.
