Common & Nas “Ghetto Dreams”

A collaboration that’s been long overdue has finally arrived with hip-hop veterans Common and Nas together on a new track called “Ghetto Dreams.” This is the first new music Common has brought out since his 2008 album, Universal Mind Control and a sure pleaser for hip-hop lovers.  “Ghetto Dreams” is a gritty sample heavy production from longtime music colleague No-Id, with Common demonstrating some of his witty yet passionate lyrical skills many felt were missing on his last effort. As for Nas, the New York legend does his usual, laying down an impressive and hard-hitting verse. “Ghetto Dreams” is the first single off Common’s next and ninth album entitled The Dreamer, The Believer that is slated for a November release. The Dreamer, The Believer is set to feature production from the likes of Kanye West & No-Id, with longtime friends Mos Def & Talib Kweli on board for some guest spots.  In related news, Nas is also working on his next album Life Is Good, which is set to be released later this year.
