Robin Pecknold – “I Let You” (new song)

A couple nights ago (Sept. 6th) Fleet Foxes kicked off their North American tour with The Walkmen playing a show in Seattle at the Paramount Theater, where Robin Pecknold (driver of the Fleet Foxes bandwagon) hosted a solo encore to inculcate his beloved finger-style picking and pipes. His limelight performance of “I Let You” was a novelty to the darkened audience (physical and cyber) and is a possible foreshadowing of the musical direction for the group. The style is feathered with familiar overcast from Helplessness Blues – likened to Simon and Garfunkel’s version of “Scarborough Fair.”
