King Krule, or Archy Marshall (formerly known as Zoo Kid), is someone we kind of missed out on at The Dropp last year, although he did make our Best Songs of 2011 list with “Out Getting Ribs” as Zoo Kid.
Archy Mashall is a seventeen-year-old British blues rocker who happened to hit puberty gold. (Check out the video for “Out Getting Ribs” if you haven’t already seen it.) King Krule had a moderately breakout year last year, as he released his self-titled debut EP, and he’s still got the ball rolling in 2012.
He released a remix of British electro-rock duo The Big Pink’s “Hit the Ground (Superman)”. Marshall’s remix is poignantly slower, mellower, and just burned out. He also did a live performance for San Francisco’s Yours Truly. Listen to King Krule’s remix and watch him perform “Portrait in Black and Blue” below.
