New Cursive Song: “The Sun and Moon”

Tags: , , ,

Since ’95, Cursive has been an art-rock loyalist to Saddle Creek.  As Cursive seems to be on an album-every-three-years trend, their follow up to 2009’s, Mama, I’m Swollen, raptures a myth-clustering concept album titled I Am Gemini.

Taken straight from the band’s official website, “I Am Gemini is the surreal and powerful musical tale of Cassius and Pollock, twin brothers separated at birth.  One good and one evil, their unexpected reunion in a house that is not a home ignites a classic struggle for the soul, played out with a cast of supporting characters, which include a chorus of angels and devils and twin sisters conjoined at the head.”  If Tim Kasher, Matt Magnin and Ted Stevens have written music like they have before, this will be an easy one to recommend.

Their new track “The Sun and Moon” can be heard below and the release date for I Am Gemini is Feb. 21, 2012.
