Since mid-2010 OFWGKTA, or Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Em All’s, youngest member Earl Sweatshirt has been missing in action. There have been a lot of rumors about where he’s been, most of them having to do with whether or not his mom sent him away to a camp in Samoa against his will. Even The New Yorker wrote a piece on this fiasco!
Earl Sweatshirt was definitely one of the most accessible of the young rappers when he released his mixtape, EARL, yet we haven’t seen or heard anything on his whereabouts in a while. But just yesterday, a Twitter account and a Tumblr, seemingly belonging to Earl, showed up out of thin air. A YouTube video (which you can view below) also popped up with what looks like Earl himself talking to the camera about his brand new song “Home.” In the video he says: “If you want the whole thing, get me 50,000–by today. And if you don’t want the whole thing, then it’s–then it’s not that big of a deal.”
Terttlefer.com, Earl Sweatshirt’s official website, is now streaming the song “Home,” supposedly Earl’s first song back from wherever the hell he’s been. Then again, this could all just be Odd Future trolling us. Forgive us for being skeptical, but we can probably all agree that that’s not that big of a stretch. Listen to “Home” here.
