Roadkill Ghost Choir: “Beggars Guild”

For those familiar with the spacious Americana folksters of Deland, Fla., Roadkill Ghost Choir finally released their debut EP, Quiet Light. A truly independent release, it’s a brief, yet telling, five-track glimpse of what this group has quickly become capable of. Surpassing any doubts of recording or production value, the long-haired sextet sound as polished as just about anything coming out of a major record label by today’s standards. Simultaneously yielding the modern consciousness of a Fleet Foxes generation and the earnest heart of a Neil Young lover, it’s a wonder why you’re still even reading this in the first place.

You can listen to their single “Beggar’s Guild” above, and you can also stream the entire album via their Bandcamp below. The full digital EP is on sale now for $5 and you can view the impressionistic artwork at the very top.

With this new material fresh in all our ears, the band has a string of tour dates lined up, which you would be sore to miss out on, including a free show tonight, Sept. 25, at Will’s Pub with Gainesville’s Pseudo Kids, and Orlando’s Loud Valley and Day Joy.
